Greece - day 5

 On the final day, we made a guided tour on the Archeological Site of Ancient Olympia, visiting the Archeological Museum. This was combined with a workshop on "Nature and Sports in the Sanctuary of Olympia” held by the Environmental Centre of Krestena. Finally, we went to Floka village, watching the process of olive oil making and soap making. There we had the farewell lunch, where we got the Certificates of Attendance, danced traditional greek dances and ate typical Mediterranean food.

Greece - day 4

 On the fourth day we visited the Olympic Academy and apart from listening to the History of the Olympic Games, we had an archery contest. Then we went to a pottery and marble carving exhibition, where students were guided to make their own articrafts. After lunch, we visited a honey-making farm, tasting sweets with honey, too!!

Greece - day 3

 On the third day, at first we had a seminar on health friendly mobile aps at school, then we set off to visit a famous local winery, where we had a display on wine making. After that we visited Skafidia Monastery and then played old traditional games by the beach.At noon, we had lunch at Katakolo port.

Greece - day 2

 On the second day, we visited the area of Katakolo village and port, enjoyed trekking up on the hill and set a tent by the sea, with the help of scouts. Then we visited Aldemar Hotel in Skafidia beach, cooked Meditarranean dishes and had a seminar on healthy diet by an endocrinologist/dietologist (specializing on Mediterranean diet).

Greece - day 1

  On the first day, our guests visited our school, to meet the Headmaster and our fellow-teachers and students. There, students took part in a workshop ,completing a questionnaire on healthy diet and exercise focusing on every-day habits. Then we had a short walk to the Town Hall, getting information about the history of the town and the main sights. At the Town Hall, we all met the Mayor, had a reception there with traditional dances, performed by our 6th grade students, guests were given gifts concerning the history of the district and then we made a presentation of the participants’s chools. Finally, we had a workshop on healthy food pyramid, along with a contest for the quickest team. After that, we visited the Archeological Museum of the town, listening to useful information, presented by our students.
